Zen’s eclectic house cuisine encompasses Chinese, Hawaiian, Korean, Italian, and Japanese cooking traditions with unfocused brio and mixed success. The spaghetti with enoki mushrooms and fish roe and the kimchi-ribboned fried rice are zesty examples of comfort food, and the vermicelli with roast duck and mango is a sweet and savory treat, but the chicken gizzard yakitori and the panko-crusted fish and chips are best avoided. Desserts are on the hotel-banquet level, but the mango soleil is a nice tangy meal-closer. Impressive array of soju and sake cocktails; handsome low-key red-and-black ambience.
