Should be titled: Kevin Smith Makes a Warm and Fluffy Romantic Comedy. With anal sex. Youth-market leading man Seth Rogen plays his usual lovable loser, this time trying to stave off eviction with his platonic babe of a roommate (Elizabeth Banks) by raising some money in a hurry. Hey, let’s make a porn flick. Writer-director Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jersey Girl) continues his career slide with this sweet, harmless love story, in no way a Pittsburgh remake of Boogie Nights. Looks more like The Bowery Boys Lose Their Pants. Nice support work, though, by Katie Morgan, Justin Long, and real-life X-rated vet Traci Lords. Contains not even a smattering of actual porn, unless you count the shit-in-face money shot (102 min.).
