Hello. As you may have heard, we are in a recession. Indeed, maybe you yourself are un- or under-employed! Never fear, y'all: EBX has your back with our quarterly-ish Education and Careers issue, dedicated to tipping you off to news, trends, and opportunities in the realms of careers and education. This time around, it's all about careers having to do with the body. Get your mind out of the gutter: this means teaching yoga (not necessarily as easy as it looks!); acupuncture for drug addiction (pokey fun); tattooery (an increasingly attractive field as opportunities for artists continue to dwindle); and tattoo removal (see previous item). We've also got a comprehensive list of classes, information sessions, and academic resources for your perusal. See the whole special issue here.

History-laden thrillers, intellectual capers, a romantic heroine with a Ph.D, a murder mystery penned by a MacArthur Genius: This summer’s best books — many of which have local authors and settings — are equal parts brainy and beachy.
