Re: “Berkeley Tree-Sitter Charged with Stabbing

the papers, and their electronic versions, al screwed this up.
Matt DOdt was never "charged" with attempted murder. the police ACCUSED him of it, but at arraignment, the judge realized that it was not even the proper chrage for the incident as alleged by the police report, and he was re-arraigned two days later on different criminal charges.
the complaining witness has since withdrawn his testimony, which casts an entirely different light on the police report. friends and supporters who know Matt as a principled person who does not strike out even under provocation, hope that the judge realizes that the supposed crime could NOT have taken place as reported, and that ALL charges are dropped. we also wish the press would take the time and care to report only wqhat can be verified.
