In 1986, Wole Soyinka became the first African ever to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. Imprisoned for peace activism in his native Nigeria in 1967, he remains an activist to this day. On Tuesday, Feb. 2, this celebrated playwright, novelist, essayist, memoirist, and poet participates in a panel discussion with faculty members in UC Berkeley's Maude Fife Room (315 Wheeler Hall). 4 p.m., free.
