Drama, Thriller
Aussie thriller plows familiar ground with the tale of a double-date foursome of Sydney residents, vacationing on the Cambodian seacoast, who party too hard one night and wake up with one of the guys, a slick businessman, missing. The procedural business of the police investigation back in Oz takes a back seat to the marital tensions between Alice (Felicity Price) and her husband David (Joel Edgerton), but we wish director Kieran Darcy-Smith and his co-writer, actress Price, had paid less attention to the underworld shenanigans of Jeremy (Antony Starr) and more to the marital lies-and-misdemeanors drama. Nice try – the in-country credits montage is a treat – but it falls short. (93 min.)
