He was the angriest man in the world, the frustrated announcer cussing and fuming through a sales training video for RVs that eventually became a hellaciously popular viral video. Now, as filmmaker Ben Steinbauer’s amiably slack documentary shows us, Jack Rebney the formerly frothing Winnebago Man is a half-blind recluse living with his dog in a Northern California cabin. But he’s still pretty grumpy. We have to wait awhile for the “awww” moment, but it’s there, lurking in the wings, alongside a meditation on fame, nostalgia, and the community of the internet. No fewer than five writers helped director Steinbauer whip this into shape (85 min.).
