Wild Mushroom Foray at Tilden Regional Park One Day Only Staff Pick

This Saturday, head to Tilden Regional Park for a morning of exploring and learning how to identify wild mushrooms. The walk will be led by Mario Gabiati, an experienced mushroom hunter and board member and educator at Oakland microbiology maker space Counter Culture Labs. Gabiati’s workshops incorporating his background in biology, education, horticulture, and food science. Though no foraging is allowed per park laws, guests will learn how to identify which mushrooms are edible, medicinal, and poisonous, allowing attendees to connect with the natural world through science, food, and nourishment. The event is hosted by Prime Roots Foods, a group of food and fungi lovers who are releasing a new line of food products later this year using all-natural fungi super protein.
