Why Occupy Oakland?

If you're still unclear as to why hundreds of your fellow Oaklanders are currently choosing to forgo proper shelter, running water, and you know, mattresses and such in favor of a tent city in Frank Ogawa Plaza, check out this video, in which Abby Martin of the citizen journalism group Media Roots conducts on-the-spot interviews with some of the movement's participants:

As the Media Roots blog says, "The occupiers spread across all walks of life who share a common thread of feeling unrepresented in a failing system."
