Re: “Yelp Extortion Allegations Stack Up

re: yelpers/yelp staff posting comments here

yelpie interviewed "Geraldine Fitzsimmons, professor of business ethics and journalism at Yale." Google "Geraldine Fitzsimmons Yale journalism" and see what results. No info on any prof at Yale. Nice (but lame) try.

Also, BStrange makes a weird and ignorant comparison to Alan Bleiweiss' business, which is an SEO company. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. That means his business helps other businesses get better search results on Google, Yahoo, etc. How does this compete with yelp's biz model of selling local ads to businesses while offering reviews of local businesses? yelp doesn't offer a service for money other than commercial advertising. Alan's biz offers better exposure on search engines, not direct commercial advertising on it's own site. Totally different biz models. And isn't offering reviews of local businesses combined with generating revenue from local ad dollars an inherent conflict of interest? yelp's biz model is broken at the core and can't be fixed.

Jeremy Stumbleman has his damage control machine working hard here....
