VOTE NO On Measure C

Mon., June 7 2010
This is a paid political advertisement.

It's unfair to triple the pool maintenance budget while slashing all other recreation programs. Rehab the pools at 1/3 the cost instead, benefitting everyone! Berkeley's debt is skyrocketing, unemployment is at a 10 year high. A $22.5 million construction bond plus $3.5 million annual maintenance is unnecessary and excessive.

Reuse is greener than demolition. Competition pools exist at UC, Berkeley High and Willard. Berkeleyans needing a warm pool could get passes to YMCA or UC for just 1% of the maintenance of this bond. Or we could split the cost of a regional pool with other municipalities, like we did with Gilman Fields.

Just say NO to Measure C!
