Since launching its "Jazz and the Movies" series -- in which local writer Michael Shepler would analyze the scores of such noir films as John Cassavetes' Shadows and Elia Kazan's A Streetcar Named Desire -- the Jazzschool (2087 Addison St., Berkeley) has gotten even more adventurous in its staging of multimedia productions. This Friday, April 18's film screening features the documentary Archeology of Memory: Villa Grimaldi, about Bay Area-based Chilean exile Quique Cruz, whose magnum opus stemmed from his experience living under the Pinochet regime. 8 p.m., $10.
