Two Days with Allen Ginsburg

When: Sun., Feb. 24, 2-6 p.m. 2008
Price: free

By 1971, the Beat Generation's heyday had gone well past sunset, but many of the movement's superstars were still on the Bay Area scene. At the Regent Press Gallery (4770 Telegraph Ave., Oakland), a Feb. 24 reception marks the opening of 2 Days with Allen Ginsberg, a new photography exhibition by curator and counterculture chronicler Harold Adler, whose archive includes landmark pictures of People's Park and the Black Panthers. Shot in 1971, the works in this show depict Ginsberg along with fellow Beats Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Michael McClure. 2 p.m. HaroldAdler.com
