Re: “Merritt College Nursing Woes

The age old process of natural selection had made a dramatic impact once again ! Thank you Darwin for hypothesizing this undoubtedly prevailing worldly phenomenon.

To all aspiring RN's... follow your passion if nursing is truly what your niche is...and be prepared to give it nothing but your best, and most definitely not your voice.

Re: “Merritt College Nursing Woes

As a graduate of the ADN program in 2008 at Merritt College---and having passed the NCLEX on my first try (as a matter of fact---at this point 99% of our graduating class passed the NCLEX the first time; there is only one more person yet to take the exam, & we are certain that person will also pass.

The program is what you make out of it! True it isn't perfect. But the instructors are highly qualified and are definitely passionate about what they do! But. success is all up to you. You may be part of the problem, or be part of the solution. What I suggest is form a study group with students who share the same passion and drive that you possess...it won't make the program any easier, but will definitely increase your chances of passing the program and the state board.

Merritt graduates are employed at major hospitals all over the state for a reason---they were more than adequately prepared by the faculty to survive and be flexible and use creative thinking skills in the clinical rotations and soon after graduation. Nursing is not easy, for those who want it any easier...you wouldn't want to be assigned to your family member if your expertise was qustionable. Our class graduated and on of our main instructors simply asked us..."would you want YOU to take care of you should that ever be the case..."(not verbatim). The faculty is great, if it is sympathy you want....YOU ARE IN THE WRONG FIELD.

THIS ARTICLE IS NOT ACCURATE ... IT SMEARS THE GREAT REPUTATION MERRITT GRADUATES UPHOLD WHEN THEY ARE FINALLY STAFF RN'S.

Merritt College ADN Graduates are an ASSET TO ANY INSTITUTION AS STAFF NURSES! WE ROCK!
