Tyler Labine, the lower-priced “bearded, fat, dumb dude” alternative to Jack Black and Zach Galifianakis, gets trusted to carry a whole movie. Luckily for him it’s pretty funny — in a moronic, midnight-show way. Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Labine), a pair of uncouth-but-harmless rednecks, are trying to fix up their dilapidated fishing shack in the woods but run into trouble when an even stupider group of college students mistake the boys for hillbilly maniacs. Bloody accidents then happen with things you might find on a farm. Writer-director Eli Craig cooks up the laugh-out-loud gags and the overexposed Labine finally finds a role that shows him off to advantage. Costarring Katrina Bowden and Jesse Moss. (88 min.)
