For the crime of puncturing a kid’s dream, a self-centered, pugnacious ice hockey player (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) is sentenced, in dreamland, to become an actual tooth fairy, complete with wings and funny suit. Ramping up the ridiculousness factor of this forgettable juvie good-behavior fable are the appearances of Julie Andrews as the fairy godmother and Billy Crystal as a wise-mouth elf. So this is how veteran screenwriting farceurs Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel – backed by two teams of script doctors – are spending their twilight years. Also starring the suddenly matronly Ashley Judd. Directed routinely by Michael Lembeck (101 min.).
