Re: “Live, Fast, Die Old”
Readers,
Kara Platoni has done a beautiful job. I can say this because I've poked around the world of fasting and natural foods for many years. Best if you take the lessons of the Platoni article to heart.
I speak from experience when I tell you that it's lonely to eat like I do, because I'm so far out of step with others. But while eating together is a powerful and necessary human bond, we can get that experience despite the fact that we are not eating the same thing as our companions (literally, a companion is someone you eat bread -pan- with -con/com). We're so much more at home in our bodies. We can turn around in the driver's seat and look out the window in the seat behind the driver. We are generally a pain-free group. The human species is totally talented at going without, but in our overfed world, we never reap the benefits of fasting (or Calorie Restriction). So try it. You'll like fitting into your old clothes that you know you belong in, the ones you've kept in your closet even though you're a couple or more sizes to big.
Ask yourself, "Do I want to live to eat, or eat to live?"
