Palestinian poet Deema K. Shehabi is the award-winning author of “Thirteen Departures from the Moon,” and co-author with Marilyn Hacker of “Diaspo/Renga.” English professor Persis Karim has edited numerous articles on literature of the Iranian diaspora plus three anthologies, including “Tremors: New Fiction by Iranian American Writers.” Shadab Zeest Hashmi, born in Pakistan, is the author of “Kohl & Chalk” and “Baker of Tarifa,” which won the San Diego Book Award for Poetry.
