Thomas Lynch

When: Wed., Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. 2007
Price: free

When Truman Capote was only seven, he and his white-haired yet girlish sixtysomething cousin were best friends. She was "small and sprightly, like a bantam hen; but, due to a long childhood illness, her shoulders are painfully hunched," Capote wrote in A Christmas Memory, his poignant and sensual little book about baking fruitcakes with this long-lost loved one in rural Alabama during the '30s. "Her face was remarkable -- not unlike Lincoln's." On Dec. 5 at Mrs. Dalloway's (2904 College Ave., Berkeley), local actor Thomas Lynch performs a dramatic reading of the holiday classic. Fruitcake will be served, appropriately enough. 7:30 p.m.
