The Wild: The David Brower Center's 4th Annual Party

When: Fri., Sept. 28, 8 p.m.-12 a.m. 2012
Price: $25

Environmental sustainability being the David Brower Center's (2150 Allston Way, Berkeley) jam, it's fitting that "The Wild" should be the theme of the non-profit's annual party this year. And while the bustling center of greenness is probably most associated with educational events like public forums on the benefits of bio-diesel, the party is, more than anything, a chance for the public to cut loose (and, with a full and open bar, chances are that won't be too difficult). For the "Wild" party, the center transforms into a veritable jungle with trees, vines, and even a tree house filling the floors and snaking up the walls. Guests are encouraged to don wild outfits for the occasion, which features Southern-style cuisine, music by the Extra Action Marching Band and DJ Liam Shy, and butoh and aerial performances by Fierce Face, Elliott Gittelsohn, Marina Luna, and 3. A VIP party precedes the public event from 6 to 8 p.m. On Friday, Sept. 28. 8 p.m.-midnight, $25. 510-809-0900 or
