The White Buffalo: L.A. Edwards

When: Sat., Jan. 25, 9 p.m. 2020
Price: $23-25
White Buffalo is singer/songwriter Jake Smith and his band. Smith and company started slowly, building an audience in Southern California for almost a decade with an eclectic mix of acoustic rock, country, blues, folk and American roots music. After several tunes appeared on the soundtrack of Sons of Anarchy — one of them, “Come Join the Murder,” earning an Emmy nomination — he was signed to Unison Music and broke out nationally with the album Once Upon a Time in the West. Since then, they’ve been touring internationally and winning fans with an aggressive sound maked by Smith’s rumbling baritone and down home tales of working-class American life. His latest album, Darkest Darks, Lightest Lights, is full of the honky-tonk boogie that makes their shows so compelling.
