The Victorian Ladies’ Detective Collective

When: Wednesdays. Continues through June 2
Price: $15 - $38
Playwright Patricia Milton just gets dark. Meaning the company’s resident playwright understands the horror and the humor threading through unrestrained homicide; greed; sexual exploitation; class, gender, or racial stereotypes; and other typically grim topics. Audiences attending The Victorian Ladies’ Detective Collective can expect an exhilarating ride as Milton’s signature fast-paced, deeply-researched style tells the story of two sisters who run a boarding house for Single Ladies in London, but find vocational distraction as self-appointed investigators after a series of murders terrorizes the community. Gary Graves directs a stellar cast in the intimate Berkley City Club. Actors at the venue are within arms reach — or nearly — and proximity is sure to breed a bone-chilling and unexpectedly hilarious thriller.
