The Raconteurs: The Raconteurs, Lillie Mae and Melvins

When: July 23-24, 8 p.m. 2019
Price: $69.50-$89.50
After an 11-year hiatus, Jack White revives his gang of garage band heavies. The result, on disc and in person, is a bracing blast of finely honed frenzy. Since launching his solo career, White has been known for his eclectic approach, but The Raconteurs have a laser-sharp focus, honing in on the primal rock of the ’60s and early ’70s. White fronts the band alongside singer, guitarist, and songwriter Brendan Benson and touring guitarist Dean Fertita. With the help of the dynamic rhythm section of Jack Lawrence on bass and drummer Patrick Keeler — both from the Greenhornes — they generate a tooth-rattling sound that thrills audiences and jettisons them onto the dance floor. The original tunes from their new album, Help Us, Stranger, sound like standards, but live shows also feature solid covers of classics — everything from The Beatles and Little Richard to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hank Williams.
