Nicole King will speak on her lab’s research towards the understanding of how life went from single cells to creatures made up of multiple cells – a key event in the evolution of animals. Michael Eisen will describe how the many ways in which genes are translated contribute to the physical characteristics an animal has. Variation which results in the remarkable diversity of life on Earth.
