No one will ever accuse the first two Mummy movies of being classics, but the franchise’s third installment, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, makes them look pretty darn good. The premise is cool, especially considering hero Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) is dealing with an ancient emperor who built himself a terracotta army to protect him in death. But did we mention the filmmakers throw in a bunch of pissed-off yetis, too? On top of that, O’Connell’s son is all grown up — and played by a 27-year-old actor only twelve years Fraser’s junior! It’s easier to buy Jet Li as a mummy than the idea that these two are father and son (112 min.).
