How do you solve a problem like Shylock, the guy who demands a literal "pound of flesh" for a welshed debt? Is the vicious moneylender of Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venicesheer anti-Semitic stereotype, or just injustice-hardened and misunderstood? See how Butterfield 8 Theatre Company interprets it in its downtown Concord storefront space.
