As demonstrated at the Bancroft Hotel (2680 Bancroft Way, Berkeley) on Thursday, April 24, by Christy Bartlett, director of the Urasenke Foundation of San Francisco, the Japanese tea ceremony involves whisking, cleansing, bowing, and other steps. Cosponsored by UC Berkeley's Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology, the demonstration also includes tea-tasting and desserts. 7 p.m., $3-$5.
