The Graduate Critics' Pick Staff Pick

When: Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Continues through Oct. 11 2008
Price: $21-$28

Town Hall Theatre Company kicks off Clive Worsley's first season as artistic director (a season planned by his predecessor Kevin Morales) with Terry Johnson's stage version of the seminal 1967 film The Graduateabout ayoung man's affair with an older woman that made Dustin Hoffman a star. The combination of stage nudity and Kathleen Turner helped make the 2000 London and 2002 Broadway productions a hit, but seeing as how the Lafayette community theater cautions only that it's "not for children under 12," it sounds like director Joel Roster is reining it in on that front. The cast features Town Hall vets Dennis Markham, Melissa Myers, Jerry Motta, Henry Perkins, and Sally Hogarty, plus newcomer XanaduBruggers as ingénue Elaine. September 13 through October 11 at Town Hall Theatre (3535 School St., Lafayette) or 925-283-1557.
