Deceptively plotted French would-be sex comedy stars Fabrice Luchini as a Parisian criminal lawyer in Monaco for a touchy murder trial, leggy Louise Bourgoin as the lusty-ditzy TV weather girl who gets a crush on him, and steely-eyed Roschdy Zem as the court-appointed bodyguard whose duty to protect the middle-aged lawyer means following him into nightclubs, watching him cavort with the much-younger woman, rescuing him after too much alcohol and pills, etc. The writing, by director Anne Fontaine (How I Killed My Father) and Benoît Graffin (Priceless), starts out in sitcomsville and gracefully sets us up for detours into more ambiguous territory. Wised-up scene-setting by Fontaine and substantial performances by all three principals (95 min.).
