Actors Scott Marlowe and Matthew Risch deliver knockout performances as two gay members of a San Francisco dance troupe, circa 1985, with more on their minds than their on-stage movements. The screenplay, by dancer-turned-filmmaker Chris Mason Johnson, matches first-rate characterization with a fine knowledge of Bay Area manners and mores, as worried Frankie (Marlowe) tries to convince nonchalant Todd (Risch) to take the HIV test. An extra bonus for dance enthusiasts are the numerous dance sequences choreographed by Sidra Bell. An observant slice of life from a near-mythical time and place, written and directed by Johnson (89 min.).
Director: Chris Johnson
Cast: Scott Marlowe, Kristoffer Cusick, Matthew Risch and Damon Sperber
