Terry Riley

When: Fri., Sept. 3, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $7

The great boundary-crossing composer and musician Terry Riley, whose spontaneously channeled (albeit marijuana-aided) minimalist composition In C, combined with his explorations of Indian music and jazz, forever changed the course of modern music, has turned 75. To celebrate the event, Sarah Cahill has invited both Terry and his extremely gifted guitarist son Gyan Riley for an evening of music at L@TE: FRIDAY NIGHTS @ BAM/PFA. The Rileys let loose on Friday, September 3at 8 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m., and a DJ fills the galleries with music at 6:30 p.m.) at the BerkeleyArt Museum (2626 Bancroft Way, Berkeley). $7.510-642-0808orBAMPFA.edi
