Rated PG-13 · 93 minutes · 2009

Liam Neeson, following in the footsteps of Harrison Ford and Gene Hackman before him, leaves a trail of battered thugs in the streets of Paris as an ex-CIA agent out to rescue his teenage daughter from human traffickers who would sell her to an oil sheik. The chase scenes, the fights, the parkour stunts, the tired screenplay (by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen) — nothing quite measures up to the Bourne pics, although Neeson does seem to be in decent fighting trim. Maybe he should have passed through Brussels and looked up Jean-Claude Van Damme. Able direction by former cinematographer Pierre Morel. Also with Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen (90 min.).
