This “outrage documentary” based on author Ronald Wright’s book of the same name travels over similar ground as An Inconvenient Truth and other environmental warnings, with a typical over-reliance on Koyaanisqatsi-style mosaic visuals. The idea seems to be that we should slow down, cut consumption, reproduce less, re-establish financial equality, dismantle oligarchies, abandon the “world economy” concept, and so on. Nothing especially wrong with that. Also, we’re told that human brains are inadequate for the task of 21st-century living. Uh-huh. Bring on the robots. The Canadian production is directed by Mathieu Roy and Harold Crooks. (86 min.)
