After sitting through Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, the only explanation that springs to mind for why it was made was to prove that it's possible to make a movie worse than the 1994 Street Fighter. At least the original had Raul Julia hamming it up, plus Van Damme kicking ass as Guile. Today’s adaptation stars a who’s who of C- and D-list actors with the notable exception of Neal McDonough as the villainous Bison (apparently the paycheck was big enough). Kristin “Lana Lang” Kreuk plays the titular heroine, but few other characters from the classic '90s video game franchise appear. Street Fighter is apparently not about street fighting; that was left for the sequel, which is hinted at. Please, stay away (97 min.).
