Rated PG-13 · 111 minutes · 2007

An aging has-been New York novelist (Frank Langella) is confronted with the attentions of an ambitious, attractive, somewhat pushy young grad student (Lauren Ambrose) in writer-director Andrew Wagner's appropriately pensive character study. On the sidelines is the novelist's daughter (a radiant Lili Taylor), whose here-and-now problems with her boyfriend (Adrian Lester) threaten to overpower her dad's anti-impulsive affair. A tart (no pun intended) slice of literary life, with several mini-payoffs instead of one big one (105 min., 2007).
Director: Andrew Wagner
Writer: Fred Parnes and Andrew Wagner
Producer: Jake Abraham
Cast: Frank Langella, Lauren Ambrose, Karl Bury, Anitha Gandhi and Sean T. Krishnan
