Harassment and abuse of workers, purposely hiring illegal immigrants so they could abuse and cheat them, poisoning the community to the extent that years of cancer, brain tumors and birth defects were well documented. The site flagrantly ignored environmental regulations to the point of having open flame pits visible from outside the fencing. Hypocritical and corrupt city officials like Tom Bates and Linda Maio tried for years to placate the local public while taking funds for their elections from PSC. Maio, Bates, Aroner et al represent the worst of Berkeley, PSC is purely a symptom of their corruption. The fact that PSC was incapable of turning a profit without engaging in illegal activity is proof that this business should have failed decades ago.
