Re: “It's a Grind

First rule of music journalism is, even if you don't like the artist you are writing about, to at least have the decency not to deter the reader from making a positive step to support the artist if they are still not yet established or young. As rubbish as your back handed swipe of an article about Mr Terence Blanchard was, he is an established name and a rich man. Mr Wish One [sic] and Mr Drummond are hard working people who put everything they have (financially or or otherwise) into their music and business and need all the good exposure they can get.

Re: “Terence Blanchard

"Blanchard's solos are, of course, phenomenal, but the music itself leaves something to be desired — no immediately catchy melodies, nothing too outré."

If Orwell had written an essay entitled 'Politics and Musical Analysis', that sentence would have been included as one of the five specimens in which musical analysis is habitually written. And I am sure Terrence Blanchard has the perfect traits to mollify the post MTV generation. I have absolute confidence that he will succeed in his quest to sell out.
