Soul Sanctuary Dance

When: Sundays, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
heels and finding your bliss in a free, all-ages community dance session. Shoes are optional and the music swings through funk and jazz to world music, reggae, electronica, soul and dance classics. Volunteers run the admission-free, wheelchair accessible, multigenerational event. Afterward, organic fruit is shared — possibly even a few of the energized, end-of-summer zucchini every gardener tries to shed. Who knows? Finding your inner ballerina could lead to joining Ashkenaz’s community drum circle, a Balkan folkdance event, or Tango, Samba, Capoeira, Ballroom and other course offerings. With concerts, community choirs and a roster of international artists leading workshops or performing, the welcome stretches into a broad, East Bay embrace
