Re: “Council Candidate Greg Hodge Reinstated on Ballot

I am an Oakland resident and have been blessed to come across Mr. Greg Hodge as a young woman in high school under the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth as a youth member on the oversight committee. He is very professional and passionate in making sure the process is community friendly and a very great fair facilitator.

In addition, I saw how well he operated as Executive Director of Oakland Child Health and Safety Initiative, attending meetings with a lot of powerful people of influence on the tables to establish a campaign for Oakland's children. Even though the Oakland Mayor's youth committee did not have much say under Mayor Brown, he encourage youth to develop a vision for the mayor's office, for the OCHSI and thru the OFCY of Measure K Kids First. I was a youth member in all three.

His staff were dedicated to making sure the youth in the programs were not overworked and gave us a voice. He also assure the adults on the committees opportunities to mentor the youth.

Mr. Hodge ran an outstanding group of staff, that were mostly minorities and made sure we knew of all the political process. I saw how he can be very powerful in making sure everyone gets their fair share and I will definitely support his campaign if and when he runs for Mayor of Oakland.

I've encouraged my friends, who are artists, small business owners, and 9-5 taxpayers to vote for him in the coming June Election 2008, especially due to this article on the current councilmember, Nancy Nadel:
