Twenty successful years as a band is quite a coup. Sloan it is celebrating its twentieth anniversary with an aptly titled album called The Double Cross, the tenth in its discography . Emerging from the early 1990s alongside labelmatesNirvana, Teenage Fanclub and Sonic Youth, the quartet of singer-songwriters has influenced a number of countrymen, including music collective Broken Social Scene, rapper K-os, and Damian Abraham of hardcore punk outfit Fucked Up. With the new album, Sloan continues to dish out power-pop greatness, hard-rocking swagger, and the clever lyricism. Nova Scotia's greatest musical export brings a show overflowing with righteous riffage on Tuesday, June 7 at Café du Nord (2170 Market St., San Francisco) 9:30 p.m. $15.
