If there is one thing that has come out of the madness at the White House, it is the collective efforts to organize, persist, and resist against Trump and the policies and values of his administration. There was the Women’s March, March for Science, Tax Day Protest, A Day Without an Immigrant, March for Truth — you name it. Some of the most photographed and viral elements from these marches have been signs, as people have gotten clever with their protest. On July 6, Panorama Framing in Oakland will present Signs of Resistance, an exhibit from the Lighthouse Collection of Propaganda, which is owned and curated by San Francisco political consultant Brook Turner. Some of the featured artists include Oakland’s own Hugh D’Andrade, Jon Paul Bale, and Billy Triggs. Attendees can contribute to the installation by bringing a sign they’ve used during one of the marches. Some of the artworks will be for sale, and a portion of the sales will be donated to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a nonprofit organization that defends civil liberties in the digital world, including free speech and net neutrality.

July 6 through September 3, opening reception, July 6 at 6pm. Open Tuesday through Friday 11am-7pm, Saturday 10am-6pm, Sunday 12pm-4pm, 3350 Grand Ave, Oakland, PanoramaFraming.com
