Shelly Rivoli

When: Wed., Jan. 9, 10:30 a.m. 2008
Price: free

In her book Travels With Baby, mom-of-two Shelly Rivoli recommends bringing a roll of plastic-coated gardening wire when sojourning with tots -- not to restrain them (or worse), but to fasten shut drawers and cupboard doors with which they might become perilously fascinated. At Orinda Library (26 Orinda Way, Orinda) on Jan. 9, Rivoli offers a bassinetful of advice on taking infants and toddlers on trips, such as how to help them adjust to airplanes and foreign food, and how to ensure that the whole gallivanting family has enough sleep, enough exercise, and enough fun. 10:30 a.m.
