On a suggestion by Rancho Mirage neighbor and friend Barry Manilow, Shelby Lynne turned to that other dirty-blond country-soul singer Dusty Springfield as inspiration for Lynne's latest project, Just a Little Lovin'. Produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, this collection of mostly-Springfield-affiliated fare has a warm, sophisticated adult pop ambience to it that translates splendidly into an intimate, live presentation. Amid the soft sounds of brushed drums and stand-up bass, Lynne serves up a robust mix of gospel, rock, and country on this tour that also includes a healthy serving of her own material. Catch the gal who played Johnny Cash's mom in Walk the Line on Thursday, May 1 at theFillmore (1805 Geary Blvd., San Francisco).8 p.m., $25.
