Sharks: Out of the tank, and at the Tank

Exciting news in the world of swimming apex predator research: Tags from the Monterey Bay Aquarium's recently exhibited-and-then-released white shark surfaced last weekend off the coast of Baja, according to an aquarium press release. Scientists at Hopkins Marine Station are analyzing the tag data as we blog. Stay tuned.

And since we're speaking of exciting sharks-and-predators news: the NHL's San Jose Sharks are one win away from eliminating the Nashville Predators and moving on in the Stanley Cup Playoffs after an exuberant display of vulcanized-rubber swatting last night at the Shark Tank. Game 5 tomorrow, 6 p.m., in Nashville. --Eric Simons
