Re: “Seeking "Human" Rights for Corporations

Scary thought. And, this erosion of human rights in favor of corporations has been going on for years in the U.S. Under the guise of not wanting to impede the free market, corporations have been trying to take advantage of rights granted people (living beings, not corporate fictions) under the Bill of Rights. Corporations already have an edge in resources over the individual; let's make it even harder by now giving resource-laden corporations the benefit of the human rights as well. (Of course, we still won't expect/require them to act conscionable though -- because, of course, they're high-paid attorneys will argue, quite correctly, that corporations don't have a conscience and aren't required to act like humans.) A great book -- "What Would Jefferson Do?" byThom Hartmann. (S.F., an attorney in SF)
