Sensitive Guys

When: Jan. 20-21, 7 p.m. 2020
Price: $7-15
New Years Day has passed, but there’s still champagne: Shotgun Players’ Champagne Staged Reading series, the fast-casual trollop that presents actors with minimal staging and tech support in original new plays. Sensitive Guys, written by MJ Kaufman and directed by Brady Brophy-Hilton, is a comedy about toxic masculinity and privilege. Hard to think of something more not funny, but the women and gender non-confirming actors doing their stint are sure to bust through the bad-boy clichés. They might convince you to chuckle instead of upchuck at their antics as members of the Watson College “Men’s Peer Education Group.” Minus the bells and whistles, but offering a swell primer for the campaign season ahead, there’s good reason to raise the bubbly and cheer for sensitive anyones.
