Re: “Catch Me If You Can

Reading on the latest news of the capture of Patricia Beredo, I was neither suprised nor shocked that her tide of fortune would turn against her sooner, than she expected.

I am a British citizen and I consider myself very lucky that I did not become a victim of Patricia Beredo, like the other unfortunate people she had conned both in the US and in the Phiippines.

She had invited me to Manila, Philippines, to visit her and she tried talking me into investing in a travel agency, She convinced me that the travel agency was already set up, so in February 2008, I flew over to the Philippines, but on arrival when I asked to see the travel agency, no such agency existed. I knew something was very wrong so I made plans to return to London. Patricia Beredo then decided that she was going to accompany me to London and Paris. On our way back, she was still trying to badger and persuade me to invest or lend some money to her.

In London, Patricia Beredo, begged me to introduce her to my relatives and friends as she wanted to talk to them about investment with her. Thank God I did not involve any of my friends and relatives and they are spared this agony.

While in London, too, she was relentless with her shopping spree. She shopped for 3 continuous days non-stop at Herod's from opening early shopping hours in the morning to being the last customer to leave at the end of late shopping hours in the evening. The Manager of Herod's had to literally beg her to leave as they had to close. She spent thousands of UK pounds on purchases on designer items. Her hotel room was so packed with shopping boxes, to the extent it was difficult to get into her rom. She shopped ... till everybody dropped!!!

I feel sorry for all of her victims but fortunately for me, I was spared, for it nearly happened to me.
