Denise Blackman is Vice-President of California Rescue Dog Association (CARDA), the largest, and one of the oldest, search and rescue dog organizations in the United States. CARDA search dogs are used throughout California to assist in the search for missing people. Denise has deployed on over 225 searches and has certified in four different search disciplines. Denise’s presentation will give you an overview on what happens when someone goes missing in California, how search dogs are used, the different “types” of search dogs, and how search dogs are trained.
