Re: “Oakland Councilmember Lynette Gibson McElhaney Proposes Removing Eviction Protections from Thousands of Apartments

Ms. McElhaney: thank you for thinking of small time landlords. Thank you.

Re: “The Richmond Museum of History Grows to New Heights Under Executive Director Melinda McCrary

She's doing a great job. Everyone should go there. It's a delight.

Re: “Surviving in the Hospital Desert

Berkeley Grandma you are not correct. Kaiser Richmond is considered now the premier bay area center for strokes. Also, where you go, when you call 911, depends on the EMTs and where they think you will best be treated. The stroke center is Kaiser Richmond, NOT Alta Bates or Summit. Also, fyi, I am not a Kaiser member by any means but the EMTs will tell you insurance is irrelevant. They take you where they professional think you can best be treated. And YES, Kaiser Richmond IS a full emergency room!

Re: “Letters of the Week: Our Readers Chime in on Last Week's Issue

Andre Soto, didn't you move away from Richmond a long time ago? Don't you live in Benicia now? You can't even vote in our elections anymore.

Re: “Judge Rules in Favor of Oakland Coal Project

I"m not informed on this subject, but on NPR today a law professor from Hastings said it was a no-brainer that the judge threw this out. He said Oakland did a terrible job qualifying their position. It is basic breach of contract. One of the issues the judge wrote in the brief is that it was agreed that they could "cover" the cars and minimize the air damage, but the city wouldn't do that. The NPR speaker said the judge ripped them (legally) to shreds.

Re: “Billionaire George Soros Pours Money Into Alameda County District Attorney's Race

Thanks for reminding me that Soros is also supporting Diana Becton, who lied on her resume and application for the job. Good going. She doesn't have my vote either. It's obvious to the public that Pamela Price went all ver the news with Abuslin and then suddenly disappeared from her case. Oh Abuslin fired her when she wanted intellectual property rights to her story. Yes we know that is true. Price still doesn't have a chance, rich backing or not.

Re: “Vote Kalb or Wicks for Assembly District 15

Jovanka Beckles would be a disaster. She's way too immature and not self-controlled enough to represent anyone. She is TOTALLY funded by the RPA. Corporate funding? Yeah if you consider the highly organized RPA. Free rent by the SEIU! A sweet deal for them and Jovanka is #1 behind it. The Richmond Progressive Alliance is the "new Chevron". Jovanka publicly states things like: "All landlords are evil". Etc. Because of the RPA's most stringent rent control, values will decrease in Richmond and single family homes will disappear. Thanks Jovanka. We can't wait until you and Gayle are out of the council. Hopefully for good. Maybe then you will stop hating landlords.
