San Francisco Symphony

When: Wed., Nov. 26, 8 p.m., Fri., Nov. 28, 8 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 29, 8 p.m. 2008
Price: $30-$130

Head across the bay this week to catch Hilary Hahn play Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto with the San Francisco Symphony. Ms. Hahn, who is Gramophone's Artist of the Year, should do Tchaikovsky proud with her big, luscious sound. The rest of the program -- Tchaikovsky's "Voyevoda," Glinka's "Kamarinskaya," and Shostakovich's youthful, boundary-testing Symphony No. 1 -- should be equally colorful and delectable under James Gaffigan's baton. At Davies Symphony Hall (301 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco) on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26 and 28. 8 p.m., $30-$135. SFSymphony.org or 415-864-6000.
